![]() ![]() We showed up right around check in at 3pm, and the staff was friendly and gave us our room card. ![]() My wife and I stayed here for the Columbus Marathon this past weekend and it met pretty much every expectation I had. And the bathtub was large, I apologize to anyone if they didn't have hot water Sunday night in the downtown Columbus area, as I took the worlds hottest and. The bathroom was a bit cramped, but clean and bright.the shower gel, shampoo and conditioner dispensers in the bathroom was a clever touch. Our TV was a 37" LCD with 2 HDMI ports in the back that allowed me to plug in my computer and watch netflix on the TV. The wifi signal was pretty strong on the 8th floor and we managed to watch netflix with decent results. It was great to have a decent sized mini-fridge and a microwave for no extra fees. Once we got to the room, we were pleasantly surprised to find it generously sized and the amenities were nice. I feel that perhaps the card hadn't been activated within the few minutes we took to get parked and unload and head to the elevators. When we went to get into the elevator in the garage, the door wouldn't open even with our card, luckily someone was already in there and let us in. We parked our car and the parking garage was PACKED. If your activities are closer in the convention center, it is very walkable. My wife and I stayed here for the Columbus Marathon this past weekend and it met pretty much every expectation I had. Plus being elderly and having a hip replacement 2 months ago didn't help. The Drury is located at the extreme south part of the center, connected to the food court, and all of my convention events were in the extreme north part of the center. The only downside I can think of about my stay is the distance I had to walk. I didn't try the pool since we were busy at the convention center. The staff was beyond great, especially Benjamin who checked me in and Natasha who was able to extend my stay after my flight was canceled. I'm a Hilton Honors member as well as IHG and I miss that in those hotels. My 8th floor room was comfortable and super clean, and the best part is that housekeeping "refreshes" your room everyday!! No need to scrounge for towels, bathroom cleaned, beds made, etc. What can I say, free food which was good, especially the chicken alfredo. The new breakfast/5:30 kickback area opened while we were there and it is beautiful. This was my first time at the Drury Columbus Convention Center, but it won't be my last!! Even with the construction, my well traveled nephew said it was the cleanest hotel he has been in.
